Happiness is a choice

And the little tree looked up at the giant shade tree and said: "I know I can."

I’ve often had people ask me – “How come you are so happy?”
My response: Happiness is a choice.

Have you ever met someone who was constantly blaming outside sources for their life?

Here are some examples –
I hate my job
If the weather was nicer I’d be happier
I don’t have time to do anything I want to
I’m not talented
I can’t get out and exercise

Buddha said: “With our thoughts we make our world.”

And if our thoughts are filled with I can’t, I won’t, I don’t and other negative feelings – our lives will be filled with those types of actions as well.

Let’s visit the optimistic/happy side of the brain shall we?
I make a difference at work
I’ve got an umbrella – let’s walk in the rain
I can do that!
I love to learn and try new things
Lets meet at noon everyday and walk

happiness is a choice and we can choose it at any moment.
Where will your thoughts and actions take you today?

I completely agree!
Although it's easy to be negative about things, it's no way to live.
It just makes you grumpy and sad.
OR, you can be like Pollyanna and play the glad game. We (in our country and especially in our church) are doing so much better than so many other people. I just don't feel as though I really have anything to complain about.
Love your post.

There is a sign that I have posted to the back of my front door. I Typed it up several years ago, and it has moved with us all 12 times since we've been married. Not a day goes by that I don't see it and remember. It reads: "Today I choose to be HAPPY. I may not be able to change the people around me or the situation I am in, but I have control of my attitude, and NO ONE can change that. I choose to be happy or sad, angry or irritated; and today, I choose to be HAPPY!!"

I'm glad you're another chooser of happiness. :)

What a great blog post! I couldn't have said it any better!! And Buddha sure knew what he was talking about!!

So many people just don't live! They let themselves stay in their little boxes. I'm out of the bos today & enjoying the beautiful day!!
