5 Traits of the Mentally Strong

'

Mentally strong people ...

1. Dwell in Positive Energy -
Mentally strong people focus on the good. There is no room for the negatives. They look for, share and accentuate the positives in themselves and others. When they bump into negative energy - they kick it to the curb. Bye bye negative, dark energy - go find another victim to abuse and take down.

2. Keep Moving Forward -
Mentally strong people keep pushing through. They don't stop. They don't give up. They find a new way, create new doors and opportunities! Forward is the only direction.

3. Pray -
Life is tough. But so are the mentally strong! They look up for extra needed support and inspiration. .

4. Control Their Thoughts -
Mentally strong people have positive self-talk. They believe they can and will make it through. They encourage others to believe in themselves and the possibilities available in each new day. They think they can.... (over and over). When doubt enters the mind, they toss it out. They fill their mind with encouraging music, quotes and words.

5. Act With Love -
Love. It conquers all things. Mentally strong people know how to love - themselves and others.

Making a difference ...

I am always in awe at the ability we each have to make a difference! We can make a difference every moment - if we choose. It's the little things that add up over time ... Our choice to smile, to say a kind word, to lift another and to always be our best. Day in and day out - these things matter and contribute to making society better as a whole.

It reminds me of the the starfish poem -

One day an old man was walking down the beach just before dawn.  In the distance he saw a young man picking up stranded starfish and throwing them back into the sea.  As the old man approached the young man, he asked, "Why do you spend so much energy doing what seems to be a waste of time?"  The young man explained that the stranded starfish would die if left in the morning sun.  The old man exclaimed, "But there must be thousands of starfish.  How can your efforts make any difference?"  The young man looked down at the starfish in his hand and as he threw it to safety in the sea, he said," It makes a difference to this one!"
At times in our lives, we are all the old man, the young man, or the starfish.  Sometimes, as the old man, we don't see the purpose to actions.  Sometimes, as the young man, we persevere and make a difference.  And sometimes, we are the starfish who just need a little help.

Today, slow down and lift another with your kindness!
