Decide to Rise

Have you ever fallen?

I have. It hurts.
Sometimes it takes guts to get back up.

Is it worth it? Yes. Every time...

There are many ways we can 'fall' some of them are -

Choosing to be offended
Choosing not to forgive
Choosing to be unkind
Choosing not to listen

The list goes on and on ...

The best way to move forward is to decide to rise!

This concept is similar to the famous "Batman Begins" movie line:

Why do we fall?
So we can learn to pick ourselves up.

This week, decide to rise.

Forgive
Choose not to be offended
Be kind
Try again
Listen
Be brave

Up, It's always better than down ...

Don't give up.

H. Jackson Brown Jr., Author of the best selling -  "Life's Little Instruction Book" series has this to say about success: Overnight success usually takes 15 years.

I love that quote! Great reminder that stuff takes time.

Don't give up. Keep moving forward! Train your mind to see the good in everything - even the hard days. And on the days when things are good and the game seems to be going your way - celebrate. Do a happy dance if you want!

Time, it's a gift. We can use it to do all sorts of amazing things!

Good luck! You got this ...

Attention.

The pace for life these days is BUSY & FAST. We get everything instantly with a click or a text or an email.

Undivided attention seems to be a lost art (like hand written letters sent in the mail).

It's rare to get a phone call anymore - a text message has taken over the sound of a voice. It takes more time to call someone and we're living in warp speed - right? :)

Attention is a gift.
Turn off the cell phone and TV for dinner tonight.
Call your mom and say "I love you"
Write a note to someone who could use some encouragement

Finally, slow down today and pay attention to the people and moments that matter!

You won't regret it.

He lives ...

"Home" by David Bowman (One of my favorites of the Savior)

On this beautiful, rainy Sunday morning, my thoughts turned to the words of one of my favorite hymns ... "I Know That My Redeemer Lives"

Especially the words from the second verse -

  1. 2. He lives to grant me rich supply.
He lives to guide me with his eye.
He lives to comfort me when faint.
He lives to hear my soul's complaint.
He lives to silence all my fears.
He lives to wipe away my tears.
He lives to calm my troubled heart.
He lives all blessings to impart.

    Beautiful and very lifting ...

    I know He lives.
    I know He loves me
  2. He loves you too ...
Let him wipe away your tears and calm your troubled heart!

    Happy Sunday -

Bye-Bye Fear ... I think I CAN!

Fear. It's a real part of life! It can knock us to our knees and stop us from doing most of the things we want and dream of.

I bumped into some fear this week and really had to battle through it! Our minds are so powerful - whatever we tell it, our mind seeks proof to substantiate the thought. If we think we can't - our minds will prove to us that we can't. The same holds true if we think we can. I've learned it's better to believe you can and keep moving forward! The I can't stops us - every time.

What is it you want to accomplish? Believe you CAN and move forward!

I remember reading a quote once about success and it stuck with me. It went something like: 90% of success is showing up. I love that. Show up. Be in the game. Swing the bat, take a chance and BELIEVE in yourself!

Never let the fear of striking out - keep you from playing the game!
- Babe Ruth

Today - take a swing! You got this ...

Bye-bye fear. I think I CAN ...

Great stuff!

Think and become.

Effort ...

Have you ever heard the question ... What changes are you making?

I heard it a couple of weeks ago and it caused me stop and think.
(I love the stuff in life that makes me stop and think)

Back to the question .... Hmmmmm change, what changes am I making?
And then I found myself thinking about effort and how effort is needed to change.

And then I thought ... effort makes people attractive.
Even a little effort goes a long way.

Because with each step forward, we become and we change.

Effort. It matters.
So does change.

What changes are you making today?!

Run with patience ...

Patience:

noun

1.
the quality of being patientas the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.

One of my favorite verses in the Bible comes from Hebrews -

"Let us run with patience the race that is set before us ..."

I love thinking of life as a cross country race. It has a beginning, it has a challenging course and ultimately, it has an end.

Our races are not the same. Some courses are filled with more challenging 'hills' than others.

The goal however, should be the same ... and that is to run the best race possible!

The course it set ... run it with patience and with love and with the will to endure and lift and love ...

One day, one step, one year, one mile at a time!

Go - Keep going - You've got this!

PS: Let Heavenly Father help you through your challenges ... run your race with confidence, with love and with HIM!

Tender Mercies ...

Tender Mercies -

The Lord’s tender mercies are the very personal and individualized blessings, strength, protection, assurances, guidance, loving-kindnesses, consolation, support, and spiritual gifts which we receive from and because of and through the Lord Jesus Christ. ~ David A. Bednar

Beautiful to know that He is ever mindful of us and always looking out for our happiness, peace and growth.

I am so very thankful for the countless ways the Savior touches my life every day.
